Van Hollen, Cardin Praise Senate Affirmation of Choose Deborah Boardman for U.S. District Courtroom of Maryland

Senators recommended Choose Boardman to President Joe Biden

U.S. Senators Chris Van Holle and Ben Cardin (each D-Md.) right now praised the Senate’s confirmation of U.S. Magistrate Decide Deborah Boardman to be a U.S. District Court docket Decide for the District of Maryland.

Choose Boardman&#13
was born in Silver Spring and raised in Maryland.  She attended Frederick&#13
County public universities. She received her undergraduate diploma, summa cum&#13
laude
, from Villanova University. Just after university, she was a Fulbright&#13
Scholar in Amman, Jordan. She obtained her regulation degree from the College of&#13
Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of The Virginia Law Evaluation.&#13
Upon graduation, she was a law clerk for the Honorable James C. Cacheris of the&#13
United States District Courtroom for the Eastern District of Virginia.

several years, Decide Boardman was an affiliate at Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan&#13
Lovells) in Washington, DC, where by she practiced complicated business litigation.&#13
She experienced an energetic professional bono observe and was chosen to serve as the senior&#13
affiliate in Hogan’s pro bono division. In 2008, Choose Boardman joined the&#13
Federal Public Defender’s Business for the District of Maryland. In 2015, she was&#13
named the Initially Assistant Federal Community Defender. Through her 11-calendar year tenure&#13
with the Federal Defender’s business, Judge Boardman represented persons&#13
billed with federal crimes in the Greenbelt and Baltimore courthouses.
